Vltava Philharmonic Hall Presented in Brussels

In September, the Vltava Philharmonic Hall was part of the Heritage Days programme in Brussels. At the end of the month, we also presented the project in person at Prague House and spoke about the importance of a new national music centre for Prague and the Czech Republic as a whole.

This year’s Brussels Heritage Days were held under the theme Our landscape, our legacy and focused on how architecture, public space and cultural heritage shape the city. Prague House also joined the programme, where visitors could see a model of the Vltava Philharmonic Hall and other materials presenting the project.

At the end of September, we returned to Prague House to present the Vltava Philharmonic Hall in person. The presentation focused on the Czech Republic’s strong musical tradition and the reasons why Prague needs a concert hall that meets the requirements of the 21st century. We also outlined the role of the Vltava Philharmonic Hall as a future national music centre and its importance for the further development of the Vltavská–Bubny area.

Alongside its cultural significance, the Vltava Philharmonic Hall will also play an important role in shaping the city. Its development will support the transformation of the wider Vltavská and Bubny area and help create new connections between the city, public space and the river.

The evening was also attended by the Mayor of Prague, Bohuslav Svoboda, who opened the programme with introductory remarks. We would like to thank the Representation of the City of Prague to the European Union for the opportunity to present the project to the Brussels audience.
